A Christmas letter & a commitment to 7 days of prayer WILL make a difference! Details Below!!
A Few Reactions from Last Year!
Incarceration during the holiday season is always the most difficult time. You are away from your family, ashamed of where you are, sad because you were alone, and it is by far the most hopeless time of the year. A Christmas letter from you can help more than you think! This year is a little different though - many of the prisons no longer allow inmates to receive cards (Birthday, Christmas, etc) because they can be laced with narcotics, etc. Because of that we are requesting only Christmas letters - handwritten or typed but they must be in black and white ink (written or printed) - no markers, crayons, color pens, etc.
This made such a huge difference in the lives of inmates last year - please take part again this year. Anyone that has spent time in prison can validate the importance of receiving mail. Brand 316 is providing hope to inmates and the members of our program by asking you to send them a personalized Christmas letter. You will remain 100% anonymous.
The Christmas letter can be simple or detailed. You can ask questions, or simple statements to be hopeful for. If you have a favorite Bible verse, share it! If you choose to send a card, we ask for you to commit to seven days in a row of prayer for that specific inmate. We also ask that you mention that to the inmate in your Christmas letter. On top of that, they are also prayer warriors so if you have specific prayer requests, they would love to pray for you as well!
The value to the inmate knowing that you are taking time out of your day to specifically pray for them makes a gigantic difference and provides true hope in the future. We recommend praying for their safety, long term thinking, relationships with family and most importantly to continue relying on Christ in all they do!
We will provide you with a specific name and address and you can mail the Christmas letter directly to the inmate. You MUST use our office address as your return address on the envelope.
Please do not use your last name or provide your address or phone number. We do recommend that you sign the card with your first name or your initials. On the envelope, handwrite the address and our address. (no stickers other than the postage stamp)
Many inmates will want to write you back and will send the letter directly to us. We will scan it and send it to you. We do want to be the middleman and ask that all communications follow this set up. If at some point you prefer to have direct contact, we would love to discuss that with you and are not against that but would like to counsel you in best practices.
Please provide your information below, and we will provide you detailed information about your inmate in early December. We ask that all Christmas letters are mailed out by December 18th to ensure that they receive the Christmas card before Christmas Day.
God bless you for taking the small step towards showing Christ’s love. It truly will positively impact their lives and provide hope and their future.
