"He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners."
Isaiah 61:1
You can literally set a captive free!
Consistent prayer is one of the most important requests that we can make and the quickest action you can take. We need prayer for our leadership, our program members, our volunteers and everyone involved in the successful reintegration of our members. Our key to success is the Body of Christ.
Brand 316 is a Christian ministry focused on lowering recidivism through Christ- centered personal, professional and spiritual training. Your tax-deductible donation helps support the ministry reach its goals of discipleship and training for the currently and formerly incarcerated to develop their relationship with Christ, grow in their ability to succeed in life after prison and become a self-sustaining member of society that loves Christ and wants to grow His Kingdom.
The ministry of Jesus focused on the meek, the outcasts, the poor in Spirit, those ripe for discipleship – sounds just like the formerly incarcerated! 600,000 inmates are released every year in the United States – of which nearly 50% at their worst moment identified as Christian when directly asked! The system provides little, to no, realistic training for inmates to successfully reintegrate into society. Of the 600,000 inmates released this year; 408,000 of them will be rearrested within 3 years (68%). It is a problem that can be solved!

Other Immediate Needs:
Housing: We are always looking to partner with halfway houses that are willing to house the recently released members of Brand 316. We are able to provide you with dates they will be released and they will follow all house rules including any curfews set in place. We currently have relationships but are always looking to expand as our ministry grows. There is always a need for housing.
If you have property that you are looking to donate, we encourage you to call us so we can go over the benefits of donating your property to Brand 316 with a detailed plan of exactly how we will use it to glorify God.
Stable housing is pivotal in the growth and success of people recently released from prison and the donation of property is a gift that keeps giving. Over time, your donation will help hundreds successfully reintegrate back into society with a path to success while having a stable place to live during their transition.
Transportation: Working Cars and Almost Working Cars, Bicycles, Mopeds
One of the larger challenges the recently released from prison face is transportation because it is vital for them to be able to get to and from work and other pivotal meetings they are required to attend. Majority of the cities throughout the United States have poor infrastructure for public transportation. This can be detrimental to somebody’s successful reintegration, and we have come up with several solutions that help resolve these issues.
This includes things like carpools as a last resort. If you have a vehicle that is in general good working condition, but you are no longer in need of, we would love for you to donate a vehicle to Brand 316 because we will make good use of it. Also, if you have vehicles that are not in such good shape, we will also happily receive them as donations so that people can be trained in automotive repair.
We also need bicycles, mopeds under 50cc, electric bikes or scooters. Essentially, anything that can get someone from point A to Point B when the distance is too far to walk.
Opportunities for the Church
Without a direct partnership with the body of Christ our program is destined to fail. We need your prayers and time commitment!
We rely on the church and church members for both prayer and support. One of the most significant things church members can do is volunteer their time to help with our programs. As an example, we are in constant need of mentors that can commit one hour a week for a total amount of six weeks, spending time, mentoring, and getting to know somebody that was recently released.
The value of a support network upon release is pivotal in the successful reintegration into society and it is a simple step you can take. You will be surprised how much you learn from them and of course how much they can learn from you.
No matter your profession there are several ways you can help. For example, if you are a financial planner we have the need to teach several courses in basic financial management, budgeting, credit building, saving and much more. If you would be willing to commit one hour a week for six weeks, you could make a gigantic difference in several men’s lives.
If you were/are a counselor there is significant need for general counseling and trauma counseling for anyone coming out of prison. If you would be willing to commit to six sessions in six weeks, you also can truly impact and change the course of someone’s life.
If you are currently retired we need your help and no matter your previous occupation. You have significant skills and experience combined with the love of Christ to truly impact and make a difference. We invite you to visit any of our program trainings so you can understand what we are doing and so that you can feel comfortable with what you are volunteering for.
It is important to know that we have a rigorous application process which requires serious effort to complete – the people in our program truly want and need your help and have taken steps to prove their level of seriousness.
Small and Large Business Commitment
We are actively pursuing businesses and business owners for several reasons. Most importantly, upon graduation from our program our participants are equipped to be a valuable asset to your company and need a fair shot.
There are several benefits to hiring graduates of our which we are happy to review with you anytime. As a former for profit business owner, I can attest that some of my best and most loyal employees had criminal records. There are several studies that show the formerly incarcerated are more loyal employees, work harder, more dependable, and more thankful for the opportunity. There are also government programs that provide you a tax write off and insurance to protect your business.
Graduates of our program are required to work while being trained. This means that when you hire a graduate of Brand 316 they have already shown a 12 month commitment to a job immediately upon release and were actively involved in both our re-integration and career training system, graduating that system along with several other accomplishments that makes them a desirable person for any company to hire. Hiring a graduate of Brand 316 provides you with a great employee that is focused on long-term career growth.
